Shelter – Jung Yun

Kyung Cho, a thirty-something father of a young child, professor at a local college and homeowner, finds himself upside down on his mortgage and needing to sell his house in order to stay afloat.  Kyung, who is estranged from his wealthy parents, refuses to ask for their help in this time of need.  However, suddenly, his parents desperately need Kyung to care for and assist them.  The novel is touted as a family drama (and it is that), but the intricate plotting makes this read more like a suspense thriller and it culminates in an equally shocking and satisfying way.  I found the audiobook to be particularly engaging and suspenseful.  This family story is intricately layered, constantly unraveling truth after truth.
