Finding Claire Fletcher / Losing Lisa Holloway – Lisa Regan

!TW: Sexual Assault

Mystery novelist Lisa Regan published two books in 2017 in a new series that captured my full attention.

In Finding Claire Fletcher, we meet Detective Connor Parks in a bar lamenting a case when he takes home a one-night stand.  The next morning, the woman disappears leaving a note with only a name (Claire Fletcher) and an address.  When Parks can’t shake her from his mind, he goes to the address looking for her only to be met with stunned siblings who tell him that he couldn’t have met Claire – she was abducted ten years earlier and they haven’t seen her since.  The rest of the book follows Parks and flashes back to Claire’s abduction and treatment.  Will Parks find Claire Fletcher and is she the woman he is looking for?

The second book of the series, Losing Lisa Holloway, brings back Connor Parks and, in a spoiler of sorts, his new partner-in-crime detecting, Claire Fletcher (I’ll let you read the first book to see whether this is the actual Claire Fletcher and whether it’s the woman he met at the beginning of the book).  Needless to say, this is a series that is best read in order. Losing Lisa Hollowaycapably juggles several story lines in a fast-paced and cohesive way.  Serial killers, a mother who attempts to kill her children, and ghosts from the past haunt the duo to a satisfying conclusion.

Kindle readers will find both of these books inexpensively on Amazon along with a backlist of three stand alone mysteries published prior to this series as well as a new series with two installments published in 2018.  I’m looking forward to tackling her backlist.

I received an advanced copy of these books from the publisher via netgalley in exchange for honest reviews.  Thanks!
