The Grid – Gretchen Bakke

Subtitled “The Fraying Wires Between Americans and Our Energy Future”, this non-fiction book examines every aspect of the American grid.  Solutions to energy issues are remarkably complex, but Bakke ably and accessibly explains nuances to the structure of the grid; the interworkings of various energy sources; the role of governmental regulations; environmental issues and infrastructure concerns.  Well-researched and well-written, Bakke gives multiple views of the issues facing the grid and does offer some possible solutions.  A must-read for non-fiction fans and the audiobook was great.
