The Decatur Book Festival Summer Series continues tonight with a conversation hosted by Joshilyn Jackson between Rochelle Alers and Mary Kay Andrews about their latest books: The Beach House and The Newcomer.
Interestingly, these two novels share many elements, both feature a protagonist fleeing violent men, both feature beaches (naturally ;-), and both give the women purposeful jobs to help them cope with their found circumstances; and each has an appealing love interest. But, each offers a different take on these elements, which leads to two unique takes on the quintessential beach read.
